Create and schedule a work order
Turn a job into a scheduled, assignable work order.
Before you start
- You've added the customer.
A work order is the job itself — what needs doing, when, and who's doing it. Create one directly, or convert an accepted quote into one.
Create the work order
Like quotes, a work order is created in two steps: enter the details (and optionally schedule it), then add line items on the next screen.
- 1In the left menu, click Work Orders, then New work order.
- 2Title (required)A short description of the job.
- 3Customer (required)Choose the customer, and a service location if they have one.
- 4Schedule and assign (optional)Set a Date & time and Duration, and tick technicians to assign. You can also do this later from the work order or the calendar.
- 5Click Create work order. It opens on its own page.
Or, from an accepted quote, click Convert to Work Order — the line items are copied across so you don't re-enter them.
Add line items
- 1On the work order page, click + Add line item for each labour line and material, with quantity and price.
Setting a scheduled date moves the job from Open to Scheduled automatically. Assigned technicians can see the job is theirs.
Complete the job
When the work is done, open the work order and click Mark Complete, or capture the customer's signature on site. A completed work order is ready to invoice.
