Request a deposit on a quote

Collect a deposit up front; it's credited on the final invoice.

Before you start

  • Deposits are a Pro feature.
  • Online payments are connected (so the customer can pay the deposit).
Note · Deposits are part of Pro.

You can ask a customer for a deposit when they accept a quote. It's collected up front and automatically credited against the final invoice.

Add a deposit to a quote

  1. 1
On the quote form, find Deposit request.
  2. 2
Choose Percentage of total or Fixed amount, then enter the value.
  3. 3
Save the quote and send it as usual.

How the customer pays it

When the customer accepts the quote on their online portal, Crewato creates a deposit invoice and takes them straight to pay it by card. You're notified once it's paid.

Credit on the final invoice

When you generate the invoice for the completed job, the paid deposit is applied automatically as a credit, so the balance due is just the remainder.

Note · The deposit is tax-inclusive (a share of the total, including tax); the final invoice carries the job's full tax once. Deposit collection happens when the customer accepts on the portal.
