Assess a job before you quote it
Book a site visit or phone assessment, then turn it into a quote or work order.
Before you start
- You're an Owner, Admin, or Manager.
An assessment is the "go look first" step — a site visit or phone call to scope a job before you commit to a price. It's tracked separately from work orders.
Start an assessment
There are two ways to start one:
- 1DirectlyIn the left menu, click Assessments, then New assessment. Choose the customer, add a title, and set the visit details.
- 2From a booking requestOpen the Requests inbox, open a request, and click Start an assessment — Crewato creates the customer record for you.
Either way the assessment gets a number like A-0001 and opens on its own page.
Note · Already know you'll quote or schedule? You can skip the assessment and create a Quote or Work order directly instead.
Schedule and run it
- 1On the assessment, set a Visit date, Time, and Duration — or tick Phone assessment for a remote check that isn't dispatched.
- 2Optionally set an Assessment fee (0 = free). It carries onto the resulting quote or work order as an editable line.
- 3Assign a technician if it's a site visit.
Turn it into work
Once you've seen the job, click Create quote or Create work order (the fee carries over). Or Mark completed, or Cancel if it's not going ahead.
